Meet the Designer

Hello and welcome, 

I’m Vanessa, an artist who dreams of owning an alpaca ranch. I have a stack of degrees, and although none are in art, I took a lot of art and design classes along the way. For fun. : )

I’ve been designing book covers since 2015, and I have 20+ years of experience in marketing. My cover designs have won awards and been on best-seller lists—not just because they’re eye-catching, but because I strive to evoke emotion with my designs. So if a potential reader doesn’t immediately purchase your book, they’ll be haunted by the cover design until they do. ; )

To achieve that, I ask targeted questions and sometimes request a sample of the writing before I begin the design. I prefer to create original designs working in various mediums, depending on the best fit (i.e., look or vibe) for the project. Everything is digitally enhanced and optimized for print. Full disclosure* I occasionally use AI for enhancements, but nothing is solely created using AI. I also work with stock images when that’s requested or best suits the project, but images are combined, altered, and modified to create a unique finished product.

I work with both indie authors and traditional publishing houses. I’m based in the US, but I have clients all over the world, so wherever you call home, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I look forward to hearing about your writing and bringing your vision for your cover design to life!
